Where's the Footy ("the app") shows which UK app or channel a football match is on and opens that app for you. This policy explains what data the app handles.
When it's on, the app sends:
We use this only to understand how the app is used and to fix problems. Every hour we add it up into daily totals (for example, how many people opened the app that day). The individual records, with the random ID, are deleted after 35 days. We keep the totals, which don't relate to any one person.
We don't store your IP address with this data. Our hosting provider may briefly log network details, such as IP addresses, to run and protect the service.
When you turn it off, the app stops sending usage data and crash reports straight away, and anything not yet sent is discarded. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the app working and improving it.
Your list of favourite teams, the apps you have and your settings are saved on your phone. The usage data above only includes a team when you add or remove it, and a setting when you change it. Match reminders are scheduled on your phone by the app.
The app downloads fixtures, results and UK broadcaster information from our backend. That data comes from third parties such as football-data.org and TheSportsDB and contains nothing about you.
If you email us (for example with "Report an issue"), we get your email address and your message, and use them only to reply and fix the problem.
Our backend is hosted by Supabase, which stores the data in London (UK) on our behalf. We don't share it with anyone else.
When you tap a match, the app asks your phone to open the broadcaster's app (e.g. BBC iPlayer, ITVX, Sky Sports, NOW, TNT Sports, Prime Video) or, if it isn't installed, the App Store or a web page. Once you leave for a broadcaster app, that app's own privacy policy applies. We are not affiliated with these broadcasters.
You can turn off anonymous usage data in Settings at any time. Because the data isn't linked to you, we usually can't pick out your records, but you can email us with any question. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
The app is for a general audience and isn't aimed at children.
We'll update this page if anything changes, and change the date at the top.
